Alright, so you're probably wondering, who am I to teach you about diversity? What does she know that I don't, and can she actually help my business?
Over the years I've learned how to stand up for myself, acknowledge my own privilege, and also learned the importance of uplifting others. I've learned as much as I can about other marginalised groups or those oppressed by systemic injustices, learned about my own culture and what it means to be Asian, Asian-British, a womxn, a Person of Colour, working class, bisexual, a young adult, having lived experience with addiction, and having lived experience with mental illness.
I've educated myself by taking courses, taken part in webinars, joined Facebook Groups, followed Instagram accounts, connected with people, read books, articles, essays, and blog posts, and have even started my own book club on progressive literature.
I've healed myself through self-care, and by working on decolonising my mindset. My experience has taught me so much about what it truly means to respect others, and the importance of uplifting others, and I'd like to help you get there too.
It's not an easy journey but it's an important one.
